Jocelyn Hendrickson (Ph.D., Emory University; M.A., University of Ulster; B.A., University of Washington) is Assistant Professor of Religious Studies and History & Classics at the University of Alberta. Hendrickson’s research focuses on medieval and early modern legal history in North Africa and al-Andalus. Her most recent article, “Is al-Andalus Different? Continuity as Contested, Constructed, and Performed across Three Mālikī Fatwās,” is forthcoming in Islamic Law and Society (2013).
